the blog

I have been considering changing the blog a bit... It seems there is so much I want to share on a personal level, and then there is the 'terrarium' or business side of things.  I am not sure how it will work, but I may either move everything over to another blog, or start one for only business things.

I will still share my creating with you - but all the details of markets, latest designs etc could all be under one tab.  I need a space to share my head.  It's not doing so well today.  Funny thing that.  No rhyme or reason, just feeling quite flat.  I wish I could crawl into bed and read for the rest of the day and leave Mummy duty to someone else.

I tried to take my mind off my mind by taking some pictures.  Not sure if it worked.... think I will wash the rest of the dishes instead and visit the chickens, maybe some knitting.  I am missing my friends.

What do you think, honestly... keep the blog as is, or take my personal baggage abroad to another blog?

  1. I love reading your blog Rachael! Makes me feel human, like I'm not alone in the craziness of motherhood. It also cheers me up! I'm sure you are not only an inspiration to myself, but many others!
And two things: 1/ I LOVE that mirror!
2/ HOW can you be so organised to already have pictures on the wall when you have just moved??

    You are a SUPERMUM!

    1. Karen, you have brought tears to my eyes! I'm feeling like a fruitloop today! I have been trying to do something each day, that was one days effort (the pics that it). The mirror is cute, it's in the bathroom, I'm thinking I will move it once we fix up the bathroom, maybe paint it red? I ordered a bunch of new business cards and put the blog address on them, feeling like that was not such a great idea! xxxx love to you!

    1. Thanks Rebecca - just feeling a bit self-conscious I suppose. But I knew this as I began the blogging journey - it's just feeling weird when I have crazy days like today!

  3. Hi Rach, I love reading your blog maybe you could have a tab for the buisness side of things.
I think its good that you talk about your home life and about the kids. You actually inspired me to start my own blog
Ps I understand the missing your friends. I live so far away from my old friends and most of my new ones come from work and i can't talk about work things. Which is restricting and lonly

  5. Your friends miss you too.
I think Squiggly Rainbow needs a business URL and then you can stay linked to each other..
Otherwise maybe change the name of one or the other, but please dont stop putting your honest words out in the world, because they mean a lot to a lot.
    Love your guts, oxox

  6. I like it all on one blog, yes maybe another tab. I like that we all have multiple sides and things that interest us, I feel like you would be splitting yourself in two with two blogs!!!

    1. That is a good point and I did want to keep it real. . . Maybe I may not be as open if there were two.... Or maybe I'd let loose and seem even nuttier!

  7. I like it all in one spot......you could do it on different tabs, as long as you didn't feel pressure to post twice as much.....?

I am time poor, I don't read that many blogs and such, but yours sits up on my tool bar alongside Small Things, Soulemama and some of my friends blogs. Keep at it, your honesty is lovely and refreshing :)

oh and I love those damn terrariums!

  9. Love it as it is. Dont get to visit/comment often enough but love the honesty. There are too many blogs out there that aren't telling it how it really is. Being a mum has to be the toughest job in the world It is both mentally & physically exhausting

  10. Seems most want it in one place. If you are with blogger you can achieve this and still get what you may want. I think it is the "Blogging post format" Am I right? If so you start another blog of any kind (does not have to be blogger) then on this blog you add a new page and when it asks you blank page or other site? you link other site. no one really notices the urls are different. See an example at http://earlyplay.blogspot.com.au/ by clicking on any of the pages.
